Ah - a forum after my own heart: the “Commercials I Hate Forum”. One commercial mentioned in the forum and that I also despise is the new Hummer ad: A young man is hit by a suffocating wave of insecurity upon purchasing some tofu and dashes out to buy a Hummer. The ad is honest. It says “yes, I bought the Hummer because I feel lacking in other areas”. I do however like the British Petroleum ads. Their approach was “oil is a necessary evil but let’s make it as environmentally friendly as possible”. BP’s decision to close up shop in Alaska will raise our oil prices yet again. We will all take a hit. And to all of the Hummer owners out there who will shell out a few hundred per week in gas? Take it like a man.
